Lets be real …
This post goes out to my foodies out there! I will tell you now that I have a love, hate relationship with food. For years I have constantly struggled with my weight because ya girl is picky. Picky in the way that I only at chicken tenders and French fries for a long time and during holidays carbs were my best friend! Not healthy carbs, the carbs that would have you dead asleep on the couch around an hour after dinner.
Now for years, I have been struggling to find a healthy balance. I refuse to give up the things I love. Now some of my top “unhealthy” foods that I like are of course my go-to chicken tenders and french fries when I’m at school it’s either biscuitville or cookout 😋.
Those are the things that I could get when going out, but even though I’m picky I love to cook! I don’t know about ya’ll but cooking is something that always brings my family and friends together.
I can whip up a simple egg and sausage in the morning, all the way to egg and bacon quiche for breakfast and some chicken parmesan with risotto for dinner. Now since I have been becoming the healthier me I have tried to learn to make things that will help me in the long run with losing weight and also maintaining it.
I hope that with this post I can give you a little motivation for finding your balance! Feeling like you don’t have to completely dump junk food or go on a crazy diet to find what works for you! You even may find your healthy fast food!
My newest discovery is Açaí bowls, now for anyone who knows me y’all know I’m little obsessed with them right now. An açaí bowl consists of frozen açaí, strawberries, and bananas, on top you put granola, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries and from time to time I’ll put a little honey.
Not only is it filled with fruits and nutrients that are very healthy for your body, but this bowl right here fills me up enough to the point where I can eat it for dinner and be satisfied for the night. Although I will say buying these can get expensive so I have learned how to make them on my own! Which I have to say I have been doing pretty good!
Other than my açaí craze I have learned that you can still enjoy what you love in moderation. Even from the snacks I eat switching from milk chocolate to dark chocolate and a bag a chips to some fruit. I found a fast food dinner that is healthy, bomb as hell and quick! Don’t get me wrong I am still going to enjoy the food that puts me right to sleep but I found my balance!
